I was wondering what websites do with their external links and how they can be hijacked.
One can generate links from the Daily Telegraph: James Doig
Some random sites found in Google:
- James Doig
- Me and someone called James Doig
Or even the US government: James Doig
And Google itself: James Doig
I have often seen reminiscences of people I have never even heard of, and I fail to see -- because I do not happen to be a 'Somebody' -- why my blog should not be interesting. My only regret is that I did not commence it when I was a youth.

My Oxford homepage has shot up the Google rankings, maybe as a result of this post.
Last week I wasn’t even on the first few pages of results for the search ‘Doig’, but I’ve now leaped to forth.
